Read below why you should hire Space Solutions LLC to replace your rusty window wells!
WHY DID MY WINDOW WELLS RUST?
Did you know that window wells didn't always rust so fast. They are designed to last years if not decades. In Colorado you would think they would last longer than normal due to our dry climate. That is not the case in many Colorado homes built in the last 20 years. So, what is causing it? It is related to the electrical system in the house. Because our climate is so dry, connecting the electrical grounding system to the earth is not as easy as other climates. Therefore, it is common for electricians to use a grounding method referred to as a CEE (Concrete Encased Electrode). The common name is the Ufer Ground. The Ufer grounding method uses the concrete foundation as the connection between the electrical system and the earth. Your window well is mounted directly to the foundation, making it the path of least resistance in this connection. The electricity flowing through your window well causes premature oxidation, otherwise know as RUST!
WILL THEY RUST AGAIN?
NO THEY WONT if you hire Space Solutions LLC to replace your window wells! We use our patented mounting system so you will not have to worry anymore! Our system guarantees that your window well will not be electrically connected to your foundation or electrical system components! When Space Solutions LLC replaces your window wells, you wont have to worry about them rusting prematurely. They will last as long as the manufacturer intended them to last when they were made in the first place!
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO COMPLETE?
With our propriety system we are usually able to replace two window wells in one day. This cuts the time in half of a normal installation.
WHAT ABOUT THE SUROUNDING PATIO AND LANDSCAPING?
Nothing to worry about here either! With our system we only need to remove three to four inches around the existing window well. Other companies are required to remove almost 24" on each side of the window well if they plan on securing it properly!
BUT, THE WINDOW BUCK (METAL FRAME AROUND WINDOW) IS RUSTING TOO!
We remove the rust as much as possible and apply a new sealer to the window buck to slow the rusting process in the future. Does our competitors take this extra care?
